Vamp Tech has certified by UL the new flame-retardant compound Vampamid HT 3028 V0, based on PPA (PA 6T), reinforced with 30 % of glass fibre and halogen-free.
The compound was UL94-V0-certified for all colours from 0.4 mm to 3.2 mm of thickness. Besides, it was optimized for high temperatures, achieving by UL a certification of the use temperature in continuous (RTI) corresponding to 155 °C in all thicknesses. It is the highest absolute working temperature among all PPA included in UL’s data bank. Among the other characteristics, it is worth signalling also CTI (comparative tracking index) equal to 600V and GWIT (glow wire ignition temperature) of 775 °C, in absence of flame. Vampamid HT 3028 V0 satisfies the requirements of the engineers in the electrical, electronic, household appliance and lighting market, who are expected to implement components able to grant more safety, resistance to high temperatures during the productive process and in operation, thinner and thinner wall thicknesses and high dimensional stability. Performances that PPA grants thanks to the low humidity absorption. All that with the availability of a broad range of colours, necessary for the differentiation and identification of components. Being halogen-free, the new compound complies with European environmental standards and the WEEE regulation concerning recycling, thus attaining the HL3 classification according to the European regulation of public transports EN45545.
