Pasell’s new plant in Manisa, Turkey, once again shows the company’s ability to follow the customer to the places where production takes place. But that is not all. Pasell, in fact, also supports home appliance players with its know-how, gained in fifty years of activity.

For more than two decades, Pasell has demonstrated its ability to successfully undertake internationalization paths to support customers abroad as well. The Italian company, whose core business is counterweights for washing machines, has gradually extended its presence in the main European household appliance markets, flanking its production site in Forino, in the province of Avellino, with factories in Poprad (Slovakia), Radomsko (Poland) and Istanbul (Turkey). Just in the latter Country, Pasell is opening a new plant, in Manisa. It will replace the one located in Istanbul. The reason for this choice is explained by Francesco and Roberto Amitrano, CEO and President of Pasell, respectively.

What prompted you to move the production site from Istanbul to Manisa?

As it has happened several times in our company’s history, we are ready to follow our customers to support them right where their production sites are located. In the case of Manisa, our new factory will specifically serve customers Arçelik (Beko Europe) and Vestel, two giants in the world of household appliances. This summer we finished the last tests and started production of washing machine counterweights with about 30 workers. By the end of the year, when the factory will be fully operational, there will be about 100 operators. An investment of about 1.5 million euros has been allocated for the new production site.

What benefits will you be able to offer customers in this new location?

Certainly an advantage in terms of economics (since the type of component we produce has not insignificant logistics costs, physical proximity is a cost saver), but also an advantage in terms of how quickly we can meet customers’ needs due to our proximity to their production sites. The new Manisa plant is a short distance from both the Arçelik and Vestel plants, so we will be able to offer just-in-time support.

Regarding technological equipment, is there advanced machinery in the new plant?

The machinery is completely new. We have invested in the latest technology and have sized the plant to be able to satisfy both customers (we are talking about rather large numbers). We have equipped the factory mainly with Made in Italy technology, which we believe is an added value in terms of quality and reliability.

As regards to the human resources, have you planned any training activities?

Yes, we have already started training some staff who will operate in the Manisa office. As for management, on the other hand, they will follow us entirely from Istanbul ensuring continuity in management. For us, human resources are crucial, because a company is not made of machines but of people. As Pasell Group, we have 300 employees and we have always considered ourselves as one big family: this, in our opinion, is an important value.
