Displays are increasingly important components in the home appliances. They become the control center of products, offering consumers an innovative and immediate way to manage the appliances. Samsung has decided to focus on these components by integrating the “AI Home” smart display into its new range of Bespoke home appliances, in accordance with its “Screens Everywhere” vision.
In particular, the company aims to upgrade the kitchen experience with a refrigerator equipped with a 9″ AI Home display. And in the Washing category, the new ranges of Bespoke AI washing machines and dryers integrate the 7″ display (already present on the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo washer-dryer).
A smart and interconnected home
By offering a wide selection of products with advanced displays, Samsung aims to realize its vision of a smart and interconnected home. In fact, the new displays support voice control via Bixby (Samsung’s voice assistant for IoT) and report essential information about the current activity, such as internal temperature or wash cycle details, in an intuitive and direct manner.
In addition, Map View is a distinctive feature, allowing the display to function as a control hub from which user can monitor and manage the connected appliances through a single screen.
Finally, the displays offer consumers various entertainment functions through wi-fi connectivity, thus giving home appliances a new role.
Compact screen and improved functionality for Bespoke refrigerators
As mentioned, in the kitchen, to complete the range of refrigerators with Family Hub 21.5″, Samsung offers the Bespoke refrigerator with 9″ AI Home, designed for those who want the advanced features of the Family Hub in a more compact size. Strengthening its role as a control hub, the updated Map View allows users to select how to use connected appliances, such as the air conditioner and robot vacuum cleaner, directly from the Home screen.
In addition, the 9″ AI Home also functions as a hub for controlling SmartThings-compatible third-party smart devices, such as lights and smart plugs. And, through the integration with AI Home, user can easily access features such as SmartThings Energy – for monitoring and reducing energy consumption – and entertainment options made available through the connectivity.
The benefits of the smart display in washers and dryers
The fact that the 7″ AI Home display has also been integrated into the new Bespoke AI range of washers and dryers brings the benefits already found in the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo washer-dryer to other garment care products.
To give a few examples, the display helps make laundry more efficient and convenient with intuitive menu navigation, real-time updates on wash cycles, and monitoring of energy, water, and detergent consumption.
Finally, as for the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo washer-dryer, it will also be available in some markets with a more compact 4.3″ display.
