In the field of professional refrigerated display cabinets for ice cream parlours and pastry shops, ‘cold’ is a parameter of primary importance. Power Unit technology and environmentally friendly refrigerants

Among the most recent innovations is the Power Unit technology. It is an autonomous refrigeration unit consisting of all the components needed to run the thermodynamic refrigeration and compression cycle. “The components are assembled in a single, self-supporting structural casing. This is equipped with ducts for the intake of external air and ducts for the delivery of cooled air. The Power Unit cuts down on routine maintenance time and is easy to reuse or recycle. It is available in positive and negative versions. Besides, it can be used in a wide range of different products. It is sustainable and is easily modified to keep up with the latest technological developments in its components”.

The application of a variable-speed refrigeration flow on a range of vertical displays “guarantees energy savings of 20% compared to current fixed-speed compressors. ISA is carrying out R&D collaboration with OEMs. This in order to extend variable speed refrigeration technology to a wider range of products”.

Reducing the environmental impact of professional refrigeration involves the use of environmentally friendly refrigerants. “ISA uses natural refrigerants such as R290 (propane) and R744 (CO2), and has a whole range of products that use them. In addition, it uses environmentally friendly insulation in its production cycle, thanks to a cyclopentane production process”.

Maximum flexibility

Flexibility of use with the same performance is another cornerstone. “The Deluxe Collection of the Abaco range (a brand dedicated to refrigerated and non-semi-finished products) allows products to be stored and displayed. It offers greater visibility and display capacity in two versions: View and Max. It is suitable for different uses such as pastry display cabinets, chocolate, ice cream, dry and bain-marie, cold meats and dairy products, meat, and neutral for pizza”.

The DLT 80 View professional ice cream display cabinet has a double row of 5-litre trays in just 80 cm depth, interchangeable with two trays for pastry. “ISA’s R&D team has patented a new type of side ventilation that allows for a reduction in the depth of the space. The temperature of the two zones of the display cabinet can be differentiated to store and display ice cream of different consistencies. The night closing system allows the ice cream to be preserved by interrupting the defrosting cycle and reducing energy consumption”.
